Browse Objects Guide

The following documentation outlines the purpose of the Browse Objects page.

Table Columns

The Browse Objects table is a database of all objects discovered from your BACnet and/or Modbus device scan/connections. It includes some basic metadata discovered along with the object which can be used to help with data mapping on our Bueno Data Platform, including:

  • Name: Name of the object discovered on the network
  • Parent: Name of the device the object was discovered on
  • Description: Description of the object
  • Unit: Unit discovered alongside the object
  • Connection: BACnet/Modbus network the point was discovered on
  • Object Type: Whether the object is a Point or Device type
  • Device: Device ID of the device object or originating Device ID of the point object
  • IP Address: IP Address of the device object or originating Device ID of the point object
  • Object ID: Object ID of the device object or point ID of the point object on the device object
  • UUID: Generated UUID of the object, used for data mapping on the Bueno platform

Data displayed on the page is loaded on initialisation, not live. To update the displayed values to the latest present value, you will need to refresh the page by clicking the Refresh Results button on the bottom right.

Filters

The filter option is available on every table column. This can be particularly useful for isolating or identifying a particular group of points.

View Details

On the right end of the table is an options icon for each discovered object. You can click on this icon to View Details. This panel can be used to verify if the BACnet/Modbus driver is polling data, as well as view extra properties against the selected object not illustrated in the table.

The latest value displayed on this panel is pulled directly from the BACnet driver. It is not intended to display all available data for the point, but rather a short snippet of data to verify that the BACnet driver is polling correctly.

The Live (3s) toggle underneath the chart will update the chart every 3 seconds, but the chart values will only update according to the polling interval you have applied to the point.
